Mugen Dojo (Branch)
Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
Paul has been actively training in the martial arts for the past 16 years. He has studied various arts including: jujitsu, aikido, and Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu. Feeling unfulfilled and seeking a more practical approach to traditional Japanese Martial Arts, Paul approached Shibu-cho Troy Wideman in 2004 to be accepted as a student. Since then, Paul has travelled to Kitchener to train with him yearly, as well as at various seminars and taikai.
In 2006, Paul was given permission to run a training group in Winnipeg. In 2013, he was awarded teaching privileges, as well as the honor of travelling to Japan with Wideman-sensei and his senior students to train at the Hombu dojo, under Grandmaster Shoto Tanemura.
Paul’s goal is to further deepen his studies in traditional Japanese martial arts under Kyoshi Wideman, to build a solid foundation for the Genbukan in Manitoba, and to share this very special martial art with all those who are sincerely interested.
