daigo dojo

Alan Scofield

Alan has been involved in various martial arts for many years. In 1995, he discovered Ninpo Taijutsu and has studied it ever since.

In 2004, Alan opened his first martial arts school in Calgary, Alberta after running various self-defence programs in community clubs. After years of study, Alan also achieved mastership in Tibetan Reiki and continues his treatment of those in need as well as instructing young students in the ways of Reiki healing.

Alan was very fortunate to be granted the title of Dojo-Cho by his teacher and Shibu-Cho of Canada, Sensei Troy Wideman.

Grandmaster Shoto Tanemura was also very gracious to rename the school as the Genbukan Daigo Dojo. Daigo means Great Enlightenment and it is a great new beginning for the school.

Alan continues to work on his Ninpo, Jujutsu, and traditional Japanese weapons training.

Currently, Alan works as a professional consultant for the manufacturing, essential services, and property management industries.
